Christmas 2009

As many of you know, in March, I sent out this obituary:

**************************
Dear Family and Friends,

I am very sad to tell you that my husband Bill, died last night, March 23, 2009 in Hospice House in Sun City Center, Florida. His heart gave out. He battled heart disease for 35 years. He was 84 years old. Bill retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. He is survived by three children: William E. Owens III, Edith-Jane Stotzer and Mary Holly Furgason, as well as nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Instead of a memorial service, flowers or donations, spend time with someone YOU love because life is just too short.
Love to all,
Rosie Owens

I thank everyone who sent cards, emails, prayers, special thoughts, phone calls and food. I appreciate every one of you.  Your support meant a lot to me. Thank You!

Bill and I were so lucky to have each other for 41 years.  We both wished we could have had many more years together. I do have many, many wonderful memories, but they are a poor substitute for Bill!

So many of you have said that Bill had a life WELL-LIVED.  I agree.  He would not have wished anything less for us. So in his memory, I hope we can all enjoy life and have our own LIFE WELL-LIVED.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas 2009!
